EnfysVeg is less than half an acre. The first ‘no dig’ beds were started in August 2022 at Fferm Llety Llwyd in Tal-y-bont, growing food to benefit the land, the wildlife, and the people involved. There are two small polytunnels, and the site produces traditional staples like beetroot, kale, and beans, alongside more unusual crops such as luffa and melon. In 2025, EnfysVeg began growing for the Wales Seed Hub cooperative, supporting seed sovereignty and resilience. Each year, habitat and wildlife diversity increases, with natural cycles of pests and predators finding balance. Led by Ruth, who works in healthcare, ecology, and food growing, EnfysVeg is still developing basic facilities, with plans for a seating area, packing shed, and pond. Every Friday, volunteer sessions offer the chance to learn, get hands-on, and share in the harvest.
